What does your soul need?
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live.” Isaiah 55:1-3 NIV
Just as our bodies need food to survive, our hearts — and souls — need food as well. Gardening feeds my soul. So does interacting with God’s love letter to the world, and pouring out my heart back to Him in my journals. Perhaps those same things feed you, too….
Because this is a devotional blog connected to a market garden website, my intent for it is to share soul food fresh from the garden — insights into God’s character, what the garden shows us about life, God and personal growth, along with encouragement, invitation & direction from God’s Word.
I need this as much as you do; so thank you for being my audience! I pray that you are blessed by what I write. Please pray for me in return,

About Me
Despite growing up in a loving Seventh-day Adventist Christian home, despite loving Jesus from my earliest years, it took until my mid-20s to start to accept how much the Father loves a messed-up person like me. It wasn’t my parents’ fault that it took so long to understand, nor my denomination’s either. No, the problem was that I was loving God from a distance. When I started digging into His Word for myself and let His Spirit talk to me there, He convinced me of His forgiveness and love. (There’s a story there… but it’ll have to wait for a blog post.) I still mess up. Sometimes life gets ugly for extended stretches of time. But because God convinced me of His love all those years ago, I know He will keep forgiving and keep taking me back. That keeps giving me the confidence and security I need to not give up on the Christian life….
